Michael O'Farrell set up his photography business in 1987 after spending more than 10 years in the insurance industry. In search of more fulfillment from his work he decided to follow his long term ambition to become a professional photographer and undertook a series of intensive courses operated in the UK by the academy of the BIPP [British Institute of Professional Photography]. Among these were 'Studio Start' with the highly acclaimed Denis Hylander FBIPP/Warren Schaeffer in Cheshire and 'Commercial Photography' with John Rose - London [co author with Lisa Hankin of 'Running Your Own Photographic Business'] also with Ken Bray Past President of BIPP - South Woodford London. He achieved Licentiate status in the IRISH PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS ASSOCIATION in 1990 and has won many awards for his work in the intervening period. Alongside his fine wedding photography work he has done many substantial commercial projects for creative agencies and a wide range of commercial clients.
