Ego and the Empire State

View from the Empire State New York

I took this photo from the top of the Empire State Building. As I look down on Fifth Avenue at the Trump Tower, The Rockefeller Centre and St Patrick??™s Cathedral I find it fascinating that these huge structures seem so diminutive from up here. The famous yellow taxis are tiny and the people are next to invisible. The panoramic views of the city are amazing but the thought I have is that from this place I am feeling quite insignificant.

I chose to show the buildings as slanted because I wanted to have Fifth Avenue right in the middle of the photo and the slanted angle helped me describe the frantic nature of this city. After all I couldn??™t think of a better place to bend the rules than here in New York.
