Clubhouse at Castleknock Golf Club
This photo of a bright atmospheric clubhouse at Castleknock Golf Club is very special for me.
I was trying to capture the essence of the clubhouse setting whilst photographing a luxurious development at Somerton, adjacent to the course, for its owners.
I viewed it from many angles as I looked for a way to describe its setting. It has a large water feature/bunkers and the impressive 18th green to the front. I wanted to show its majestic site and the wonderful ambience I felt on the front balcony overlooking the surrounding course and the Liffey Valley that runs along its boundary.
I felt that this viewpoint with the enormous trees acting like great protectors along with the expanse of blue sky gave it that majestic appeal and was a very fitting description of how the course designer might have originally conceived it.
